Meet Your Surgery Team
Art: is the patient transporter. He transports surgery patients into the OR, gets them comfortable, and once surgery is complete, he transports them to the post-operative area where he provides them with a cookie and something to drink. Art has been with Weston Eye Center since 2010 and is also a Technician in clinic. Art is bilingual, and able to speak well with Spanish patients. Art comes from a large family and enjoys spending his free time with them.

Cherise: is a Registered Nurse and is the nurse manager of our surgery center. Her favorite thing about her job is seeing the excitement on each patient’s face after having cataracts removed and actually being able to see again. When she isn’t at work, she enjoys spending time with her husband Danny and their two boys, Brandon and Taylor. Together they enjoy hunting, fishing, camping, and sports.
Cheryl: is a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). She joins us here at the Vision Surgery and Laser Center on surgery days. Cheryl works in Pre-op area; she brings life and laughter to many of our patients. Cheryl has worked at VSLC for the last five years. Cheryl’s favorite part of her job is interacting with the patients. When she isn’t working at VSLC, she enjoys reading, quilting, and gardening. Cheryl has three children and nine grandchildren. Cheryl has two dogs and 1 cat that keep her on her toes.
Donna: is our laser assistant and viewing room technician. During Dr. Weston’s Cataract surgies, Donna explains the cataract surgery to patient’s family members who chose to observe their family members cataract surgery. Donna also assists with LASER surgery paperwork and procedure. When she isn’t working she enjoys spending time with her grandchildren.

Kara: is our instrument technician. She is the newest addition to the Weston Family. She studied at UCC in the CNA program. Kara’s job is to insure that all the surgical instruments are sterile for each procedure. She is accommodating, sympathetic and kind, she listens with her heart, and takes pride in all aspects of her job.

Kathleen: is one of our circulators in the OR. She makes sure the patient and Dr Weston has everything they need to have the most optimum surgery experience. She recently retired as Nurse Manager and works occasionally at Vision Surgery and Laser Center as a Per Diem nurse. When she isn’t working, she enjoys spending time with her husband Jeff, their children and grandchildren.

Krysta: is one of our surgical assistants in the operating room. She assists Dr. Weston with cataract surgery and is also a technician in clinic. She enjoys meeting a variety of patients and helping them feel relaxed and confortable during their examination and surgical experiences. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband and two children.
Leanna: is one of our surgical assistants, along with many other skills. Leanna assists with Dr. Weston and Dr. Gray’s cataract surgeries. When she isn’t working in the operating room, she is counseling our patient’s with their pre-op instructions, eye drops, and measurements. Leanna is also part of our OSHA committee and is in charge of ordering surgical supplies. Leanna is also trained as the instrument technician when needed. When she isn’t working, she enjoys playing with her children, Dominic and Giavanna, spending time with her husband Ben and exercising. Leanna also enjoys riding her horses, Heffner, Rocket, and Peppermint Pattie. Leanna and her family enjoy following the Oregon State Beavers football team through victories and supporting them through defeats. Leanna favorite thing about her job is the people she works with.

Margie: works in the pre-operative and post-operative areas at Vision Surgery & Laser Center. She began her nursing career over 40 years ago and joined our team in 2001. She is very valued and known for putting patients first. Margie's success is reflected in her heartfelt desire to go beyond what is expected in everything she does. Margie has a great sense of humor and has a love for raising exotic cats.
Myrna: is our receptionist. Myrna greets patients upon arrival and checks them in. Myrna also assists Dr. Weston with Laser procedures. She has work at the VSLC for over 10 years. Her favorite thing about her job is working with the VSLC TEAM and having the privilege of meeting so many nice patients. With her warm smile, and caring heart is the eyes and ears of our surgery center. She answers the questions and concerns of every patient through the check-in process. When she isn’t working, she enjoys spending time with her family and doing yard work. She is the mother of two, daughter Debbie and son Darwin. She has four grandsons and two great grandsons.
Nancy: is one of our circulators in the OR. She makes sure the patient and Dr Weston has everything they need to have the most optimum surgery experience. When she is not working in the operating room, she is counseling our patient’s with their pre-op instructions, eye drops, and measurements. When she isn’t working, she enjoys camping and watching her grandson play sports. Nancy also enjoys following the Oregon Ducks football team cheering them on through victories and encouraging them after being defeated. As well as, laughing with friends and being around positive people. Nancy is married to her best friend Dean. Together they have two sons and five grandchildren. Nancy’s favorite thing about her job is seeing patients regain their vision after having their cataracts removed.
Susie: is our discharge RN. She takes great pride in offering our surgery patients a safe, private and personal experience. With Susie, you know immediately that patient well-being is the only thing that matters. She is devoted to our patients, while obtaining their vital signs and helps them recover from their surgery. It is with confidence that our team and all of our surgical patients place their trust in her. She is known for her methodical grace, soft spoken confidence and compassion. Extremely kind, Susie finds enormous satisfaction as she calmly guides the patient through the many details about their recovery.
